In Between - The wait while things are pieced together
I cannot express the amount of joy both Bill and I felt when hearing from DIMIA that they had received the forms and we were now in the queue to be processed, it was like getting to the top of the first mountain. You would think, however, that once the visa was sent off and underway stress levels would settle down, but unfortunately, it doesn't quite work like that, well not for me (and probably won't for you!)
My thoughts were now on how to get the house into a sellable state (so much work needing to be done), the medicals and police reports required for the visa, what, if any, furniture to take with us and how to get it there etc. etc. It all mounted up to one big headache, and of course there is the other stressful point of when will Bill be able to find another job! (Redundant as of end September 2002)
To help give us a little light relief we planned a trip to Lapland just before Christmas. Click the Image below to read about our adventure

In my never ending search for new information I have come across some very interesting and useful websites. If you are thinking of emigrating to Oz these will be very handy
The first is an Expats site. This is very handy for getting any fears or questions answered by people who have gone through/going through the same as yourself. Most of the people are very friendly and you can make good friends who are moving to the same area as yourself, which is nice as you then don't feel so alone in a new country.
